Leslie Phillips, Our Pharmacist

Leslie is our pharmacist here in Rwanda. She answered Dr. Goldberg’s plea when our regular pharmacist, Jamie, was unable to come because of EPIC. Leslie is the Director of Pharmacy in Medford, OR, at the Providence Medford Medical Center. It is her first trip here to Rwanda and first HHNW stint. Her job with HHNW was extensive even before coming on the trip. She was responsible for ordering all the drugs that would be needed for surgery of 18 patients, their time in ICU and their time in telemetry. No small estimation! For those who don’t know Leslie, she is multi-talented! She has a band called “Your Mom”, an all female band. They take heavy metal and rock and change it to acoustic guitar. She plays guitar, keyboard and sings. They perform locally in and around Medford. Leslie loves to organize and that is one of the challenges that she has enjoyed about being here in Rwanda and having to set up and organize her pharmacy. She says she is very impressed with the quality of the HHNW staff, the expertise, the level of caring shown by all the team that has come to Rwanda and is really enjoying working with a new group of people who are united for one mission.
