Tanya Spicker

Tanya has joined us for 3 consecutive years. She is originally from Spokane but lives and works as an ICU nurse in Vancouver, Washington. She originally came to Rwanda with HHNW in 2011 because she has always wanted to do something like this. She feels that we are all so privileged in the US and we take our lives, lifestyle and health for granted. She wanted to use her skills outside the US for the good of others. What she likes most about working here is “It is refreshing to take care of patients who are sick through no fault of their own. They are so grateful, they don’t argue with the nurses and you can see the smiles on their faces as they recover.” You can see from Tanya’s smile, she is happy working here in Rwanda.
